They put genuine effort into their projects instead of just cashing in on your nostalgia. The Disney Renaissance had just started with The Little Mermaid and the incredible pairing of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken had made one of the most profitable animated features of all time. And then they freaking topped that. This movie was much much better than I thought it was going to be. I was genuinely surprised at how good it was. The music is frankly freaking fantastic. Be Our Guest and Gaston are freaking bops. And the title song is amazing. Then add some great animation, a perfect voice cast and you have a damn near perfect animated film. Some of the frames in this movie are downright beautiful. I legit paused the movie in order to soak in some of it. This movie is head and shoulders above any kids film made in the last five years. Nothing that Disney has put out recently should even be talked about in the same conversation as this film. Check this one out!
